Indulged a bit too much over the weekend? Fortunately, you won’t have to go too far in Toronto to find incredibly healthy meals at reasonable prices. Here are some of the best healthy takeout dishes in the city.

Vitamin Sea Bowl at Bolt Fresh Bar
One bite and you’ll know why this dish has consistently stayed on the menu since the beginning. The massive bowl is loaded with flavour and nutrients – millet, shredded carrot, avocado, seaweed, shaved red cabbage, hemp hearts, kimchi, nori all topped with a creamy lemon tahini dressing – making it a unique winner.

Gluten Free + Vegan Mac and Cheese at Feel Good Guru
Mac and cheese is usually an indulgent dish, but you don’t have to feel guilt about brown rice macaroni noodles with a cashew based sauce. The special ingredients in the cheese sauce are comprised of brown rice miso and Umeboshi plum, which gives it that fulfilling cheese taste without the cheese, of course. Creamy and delicious, people keep coming back for it because it’s a satisfying, comforting dish. It comes with green apple jalapeño hot sauce, home-made sundried tomato ketchup and vegan parmesan for extra flavour.

Anything from The Big Carrot
The Big Carrot has been serving Torontonians organic fare since the ’80s, taking great pride in making sure that everything served is certified and of the highest quality. On a daily basis, customers can choose from over 60 different dishes which are prepared fresh. Load up your takeout containers with as many different flavours you want, from black rice with sweet potatoes to garlic eggplant to ply lentils with Brussels sprouts.

Oaxaca at Kupfert and Kim
The Oaxaca is a burrito that’s been turned into a super healthy meal. You’ll find traditional ingredients such as black beans, rice, pico de gallo and guacamole but this superfood feat also includes organic kale, daikon radish, beets, non-GMO corn, hemp seeds, and cashew cream along with organic, gluten-free tortilla chips.

Although you can also add chicken and steak for a bit extra, the wrap and salad is enough to keep you happy all day.
